It's not so bad

So I'm taking this Poetry Writing class this semester for some fun and decided that since I have to share my writing with some 15 odd strangers, why not post it for everyone (or no one) to read. So here is what I've turned in this week to be work shopped. Please feel free to criticize at will.

Sweet Dreams

Storm is forming
The sky is turning black
Could this be the second coming?
Or just the end of man?

Someone is moving mountains
And crashing sails into the sea
Churches are overflowing
And I’m caught in-between

Stars are falling
As night passes by
You’ll awake to a life
Where dreams go to die

Diamonds shine out of reach
From within
Cut out of anger
Confusion and sin

*Note* The last four lines there I stole from a song that Andrew Nixon and I wrote together. Just wanted to cite my sources properly.

If I Were You and If You Were Me

We are all just customers waiting to be served
We are all just winners waiting to be awarded
We are all just single photographs wanting to be in an album
We are all just treasures waiting to be found
We are all just birthdays wanting to be remembered
We are all just thoughts wanting to be kept in mind
We all just want to fall in love

So there you have them. Enjoy to whatever extent. Perhaps on a weekly basis I'll post what I've written for class. Until then.
